TERMS AND CONDITIONS VETDSS PORTAL FOR SCHOOLS
The VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) Portal is designed to enable identified secondary school personnel to access information about all aspects of their students’ application, enrolment and progress in a VETDSS program delivered by The Gordon.
Each school with enrolled students studying VETDSS at The Gordon is recognised as the ‘home school’ and is entitled to nominate staff member(s) as specified users. Log in details, user names and passwords will be provided to each specified user(s).
The purpose of the Portal is to improve communication between The Gordon and ‘home school’ personnel responsible for the welfare and learning of the school’s VET students studying at The Gordon.
The Gordon (Pathways Unit) is responsible for the accuracy of the data entered into the Portal.
Information relating to each student’s program, progress and completion is accessible via the VETDSS Portal. Schools only have access to their own students’ information.
Information about a student appearing on the Portal, including the Victorian Student Number (VSN) and the Commonwealth Unique Student Identifier (USI) and personal information is collected and stored in accordance with the Privacy and Data Collection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).
The Department of Education & Training’s collection and handling of enrolment data and VSN’s is authorised under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The Department is also authorised to collect and handle USI’s in accordance with the Student Identifiers Regulation 2014 (Cth).
The Gordon is obliged to provide data about students and training activity to the Department of Education & Training in accordance with the Victorian VET Student Statistical Collection Guidelines available at

As necessary and where lawful, the Department may disclose VET data, including personal information, to its contractors, other government agencies, professional bodies and/or other organisations for VET-related purposes. In particular, this includes disclosure of VET student and training data to the Commonwealth and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).
Students have the right to seek access or correction to their own personal information. They may also complain if they believe their privacy has been breached.

The Gordon will provide a student’s Statement of Results to the ‘home school’ (upon request) if the student is participating in a program endorsed by the home school. The Gordon is required by law to provide information to government agencies such as Police, DHHS, Centrelink, and in accordance with the Child Safe Standards.
The Gordon provides each student with identification and they are required to carry this at all times while attending any campus. The Gordon may use a student’s photograph for identification purposes only.

- I understand that it is my responsibility to use the VETDSS Portal in a legal and ethical manner consistent with its declared intention to support improved communication between The Gordon and the home school.

- I agree to maintain students’ privacy where appropriate and necessary for the wellbeing of the student.
- I agree to notify The Gordon in the event of witnessing any misuse of this portal by any persons.
- I agree to notify The Gordon if I become aware of any data breach at my school.
